MISENHEIMER, NC – Behind a five-point performance from Mary Langer and a gritty second-half rally, William Peace women's lacrosse came back to take down Pfeiffer, 9-8, in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Lefko-Mills Field.

The Pacers (2-6, 2-6 USA South) trailed 7-2 at halftime but flipped the script with a dominant second half, capped off by Langer's game-winner in overtime. The senior midfielder led the way with four goals, including the go-ahead score with 4:37 remaining in overtime, and added two assists in the comeback effort.

"Incredibly proud of these girls." WPU Head Coach Rebecca Fraser said after the game. "They fought back and really played for each other. We are a true team that just wants to compete. I am beyond proud of them for their fight and commitment to each other and the program."

A'zori Anderson and Elise Langer each scored twice for WPU, while Sam Huff contributed a clutch fourth-quarter goal. Goalkeeper Aryal Brandon collected 14 saves to hold down the defense that held Pfeiffer scoreless over the final 21 minutes.

The Pacers held a 15-11 advantage in ground balls and were a perfect 3-for-3 on clears in the final overtime and fourth quarter. Langer's game-winner sealed the team's first overtime victory of the season.

William Peace returns to action next week looking to build on the momentum as they round out conference play on Friday, April 18th against Piedmont.
