RALEIGH, N.C. - The William Peace University men's tennis team picked up its second win of the 2025 season in convincing fashion, sweeping Mary Baldwin University 7-0 at Lions Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers (1-3) came out strong in doubles play, taking all three matches to secure the opening point. The pairing of Juliann Starland and Chapman Kinlaw set the tone with a 6-3 win, while Patrick Buckler and Carlos Correa battled to a 6-2 victory at No. 2. Angel Araiza and Michael Zang completed the sweep with a dominant 6-0 showing.
In singles action, Starland outlasted Eric Leyton in a tightly contested match at the top spot, 6-1, 7-5. Araiza followed with a solid 6-3, 6-2 win, and Buckler finished it off with a 6-1, 6-3 performance.
Kinlaw and Correa each posted back-to-back 6-0 wins at the No. 4 and 5 spots, blanking their opponents in straight sets. Zang closed out the day with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 6 to complete the Pacers' sweep.
The Pacers look to continue the momentum into their next macth next week.
