FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The William Peace University Men's basketball team put up a strong effort but ultimately fell 89-75 to Methodist on the road Tuesday night. Despite the loss, Elijah Green and Elijah Cathcart delivered standout performances for the Pacers.
Green led the way with a game-high 20 points, shooting an efficient 8-of-11 from the field while also contributing two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Cathcart delivered a strong performance off the bench, totaling 19 points, including four three-pointers, and converting 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
William Peace kept the game close in the first half, trailing by just four points at the half (42-38). However, Methodist pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Pacers 47-37.
The Pacers will look to bounce back in their next match up against Mary Baldwin back at the Hermann Athletic Center on Saturday, Febraury 8th at 2 PM.
