RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace University secured a thrilling 94-92 overtime victory against Southern Virginia University on Saturday afternoon at the Hermann Athletic Center.
The Pacers (4-20, 2-11 USA South) rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit, outscoring the Knights (18-7, 9-5 USA South) 45-37 in the second half to force overtime. William Peace maintained their momentum, delivering a 13-11 advantage in overtime to secure the win.
Michael Dulin led the Pacers with an impressive 33 points, going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Elijah Cathcart added 10 points, while Tyler Whitehurst and Parker Hodgson each added nine.
The game featured five ties and 18 lead changes, showcasing the intense back-and-forth battle of the contest. William Peace capitalized on Southern Virginia's 13 turnovers, turning them into 21 points. Despite shooting 50% from the field, Southern Virginia couldn't hold off the Pacers' strong second-half.
The win marks a significant boost for the Pacers as they close out their season this weekend. They face Methodist University tomorrow for a 2 PM match up.
