Men's Basketball Falls to Pfeiffer Despite Strong First Half Performance

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The William Peace University men's basketball team put up a strong first-half performance but fell short on the road, falling 83-74 to Pfeiffer University on Tuesday evening at Merner Gym.

The Pacers (3-20, 1-11 USA South) came out firing, taking a 51-41 lead into halftime behind efficient three-point shooting and a balanced offensive attack. Elijah Cathcart led the way with 18 points, knocking down five three-pointers, while Elijah Green added 15 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the early momentum, Pfeiffer (15-7, 11-2 USA South) responded with a dominant second half, outscoring William Peace 42-23. The Falcons capitalized on second-chance opportunities and points in the paint.

Michael Dulin contributed 13 points and eight rebounds for the Pacers, while Shawn Jones and Parker Hodgson each chipped in 10 points.

William Peace will look to bounce back in their next match up as they return home to face Southern Virginia University on Saturday, February 22nd for a 2 PM.
