Men's Basketball Falls to Brevard Despite Strong Perimeter Shooting

BREVARD, N.C. – The William Peace University men's basketball team put together an impressive long-range shooting performance but fell short against Brevard College, 101-83 on Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Gymnasium.

The Pacers (3-19, 1-10 USA South) knocked down 16 three-pointers in the contest, led by Michael Dulin's with four from beyond the arc leading to a team-high 19 points. Elijah Cathcart added 15 points, all coming from three-point range, while Parker Hodgson contributed nine points and six assists off the bench.

Despite William Peace's hot shooting, Brevard (12-9, 7-5 USA South) dominated in the paint and capitalized on fast-break opportunities. The Tornados shot 60.9% from the field and outscored the Pacers 46-22 in the paint.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle with seven ties and three lead changes. The Pacers trailed by just five at the half, 49-44. However, Brevard came out strong in the second half, extending their lead with a 64.5% shooting performance in the final 20 minutes.

The Pacers will take on Pfeiffer University in their next match up on Tuesday, February 18th at 5:30 PM.
