CARY, N.C. - The William Peace women's soccer team battled throughout the night at WakeMed Soccer Park but ultimately fell 3-1 to N.C. Wesleyan in USA South play.
After a tightly contested first half, the Battling Bishops broke through in the 39th minute on a goal from Peyton Staub, assisted by Jordan Fernandez, to take a 1–0 lead into the break.
The Pacers responded early in the second half when Samantha Fore found the back of the net in the 56th minute, finishing a ball from Josie Tucker to level the score.
Peace goalkeeper Gaby Vazquez delivered a solid performance, recording 12 saves and even denying a penalty attempt in the 57th minute to keep the Pacers within reach.

Despite the defensive effort, N.C. Wesleyan regained control late with a penalty goal from Mia Scherbrer in the 86th minute and a final boot from Samantha Dell at the horn to seal the result.
The Pacers (1-8-1, 0-5-0 USA South) totaled 10 shots on the night, five of which were on target, led by Fore and Savanna Berckmiller, who each tallied multiple attempts.
William Peace will return to action this weekend as they continue conference play.
