RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace Athletics announced the addition of women's golf on Tuesday with competition beginning in the 2025-26 season.

Women's golf becomes the 21st sport sponsored by William Peace, an NCAA Division III member. The team will join the USA South Conference and play in the fall and spring.

 "We are excited to offer a new opportunity for our female student-athletes," said Claude Shields, the William Peace Athletic Director. "Golf is booming across the country and in North Carolina - and we are in a perfect place to build a thriving program in the USA South."

William Peace currently sponsors 10 men's and 10 women's sports. The men's sports are baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis and indoor and outdoor track & field. 

The women's sports are basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball and indoor and outdoor track & field.

A national search will begin to find a new head coach immediately.
