Volleyball Beats Brevard In Three Sets At Home

RALEIGH, N.C. – Jordan Juanes and Chassie Jacops each tallied 10 kills as William Peace upended Brevard in three sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-12) in volleyball at the Hermann Athletic Center on Friday, Nov. 8.

Maegan Brylski totaled 27 assists, 16 digs and five kills for the Pacers, who upped their record to 8-9 in the USA South and 16-15 overall. The Pacers will host Brevard again Saturday on Senior Day in the regular-season finale at 12 p.m.
The match is part of a volleyball/women's basketball doubleheader at the Hermann Athletic Center.

Sarah Yates and Georgia Grace Anderson added eight and six kills, respectively, for William Peace. Juanes collected 12 digs and Jacqueline Janecek had 11 digs.

The Pacers are in sole possession of sixth place with the victory. If they beat Brevard Saturday, the Pacers would claim the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament, which starts Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Tornados, seventh in the standings, are 7-10 in the USA South and 15-12 overall.

Both teams will advance to the USA South Tournament. The top eight teams in the 10-team league will compete for the conference title.

Friday's match was tight until the Pacers went on a late run in the first set. Ahead 20-19, the Pacers scored four straight points for a 24-19 lead. They won the set 25-20 and dominated the next two sets for the match victory.
