Volleyball Defeats Brevard 3-1 On Senior Day

Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. – Jordan Jaunes totaled 14 kills and 14 digs and Maegan Brylski finished 37 assists, 10 digs, five aces and five kills as William Peace downed Brevard in four sets (17-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-13) on Senior Day at the Hermann Athletic Center on Saturday.

The Pacers ended the regular season 9-9 in the USA South and 17-15 overall. They will enter the conference tournament as the No. 6 seed and visit No. 3 seed Methodist in a first-round match on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.

Before Saturday's match started, a ceremony was held to honor nine seniors. The players were Juanes, Vivian Camplin, Alyssa Poteat, Ashley Wyrick, Georgia Grace Anderson, Madeline Simpson, Olivia Eldridge, Chassie Jacops and Ciara O'Conney.

Each senior contributed to the victory. Anderson and Simpson both registered eight kills and Jacops totaled six kills. Camplin collected nine digs and Eldridge had eight digs. Poteat recorded three digs and O'Conney chipped in two kills.

The festive crowd roared with approval every time a senior made a good play. The electric atmosphere inside the Hermann Athletic Center helped push the Pacers past the Tornados (7-11 USA South, 15-13 overall) after dropping the first set 17-25.

The Pacers led 21-19 in the second set before scoring four of the last five points for the win. They breezed through the third set – leading 18-11 at one point – before finishing off the Tornados 25-16. In the fourth set, the Pacers scored the first nine points on the way to a 25-13 win that clinched the match.

Savannah Hairr added nine kills and Jacqueline Janecek totaled four assists and six digs for the Pacers.
