Men's Soccer Falls To Mary Baldwin

STAUNTON, Va. – William Peace led early but fell 2-1 to Mary Baldwin in a USA South men's soccer contest Saturday.

The Pacers are 0-2-0 in the USA South and 3-5-2 overall after dropping their second straight game this week. Mary Baldwin upped its record to 1-1-0 and 2-6-1.

Ausar Omwenga scored in the opening minutes to put the Pacers ahead 1-0. One minute later, Mary Baldwin tied the score and both teams went into halftime deadlocked at 1-1.

The score stood until late in the second half when the Fighting Squirrels scored the eventual game-winning goal.

The Pacers lost despite holding a decisive edge in shot attempts (23-10). They also had more corner kicks (11-2).

William Peace is back on the field Tuesday, Oct. 8, hosting Pfeiffer in a USA South game at WakeMed Soccer Park. Game time is 7 p.m.
