Pacers Women Defeat Guilford, Fall To St. Mary's College of Maryland

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The William Peace women defeated Guilford 119-43 and lost to St. Mary's College of Maryland 111-68 at the Hampden-Sydney Dual Swimming Meet at Leggett Pool on Saturday.

The Pacers won three events at the meet. Alexis Inman captured the 50 freestyle in 29.76 and Sam Autry won the 100 breaststroke in 1:28.85. The team of Sophia Swenson, Cora Rebert, Madi Ayscue and Brinley Warren was victorious in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:10.33.

In other action, the team of Alesia Brack, Inman, Autry and Ayscue placed second in the 200 medley relay (2:23.64) and Cora Rebert was second in the 800 freestyle (11.37.95). Swenson finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:28.09) and Warren was fifth in the 50 freestyle (33.66).

Autry finished second (2:53.45) and Brack placed fourth (3:10.11) in the 200 IM. Ayscue was third in the 100 butterfly (1:27.96) and Rebert placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:24.99). Swenson was second (1:03.62) and Inman placed third (1:05.49) in the 100 freestyle.

Brack placed fourth in the 400 freestyle (5:49.46) and Warren finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:38.02).

The Pacers are back in the water on Sunday against Guilford at the Triangle Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. after the Senior Day Ceremony at 12:40 p.m.
