Bryant Alongside His Parents and Athletic Director Claude Shields
RALEIGH, N.C. – Standout guard/forward Beau Bryant of William Peace was honored for breaking the men's basketball career scoring record at WPU during a pre-game ceremony at the Hermann Athletic Center on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The presentation was held before the men's basketball game between the Pacers and Methodist. Bryant, from Durham, N.C., became the career scoring leader this past Saturday against Mary Baldwin in Staunton, Va.

Bryant, with his parents at his side, received a commemorative ball from Claude Shields, the Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach, to the delight of the capacity crowd. The Pacers' 6-5 senior currently has 1,215 career points after scoring 13 against Methodist in an 82-62 victory.

The previous record holder was former standout Chris Thomas. He scored 1,196 points between 2013 and 2017. Bryant, Thomas and Camden Ferguson are the only Pacers to score over 1,000 career points.

Ironically, Bryant is the USA South Conference leader in assists per game (4.0). He is sixth in the conference in points per game (13.3) and rebounds per game (6.9).
