WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- William Peace University softball opened the regular season with a sweep of Guilford College, winning game one 8-0 and game two 7-5.

Game Two
	- The Pacers would take a 1-0 lead at the top of the second on a few fielding errors. A single from Taryn Shelton would bring home Rachel Mori for a 2-0 lead, while a single from Lydia Hunt would score Anna Suggs for a 3-0 lead. Preston Hawkins would drive in Shelton, while a single from Logan Ayers would bring home Hunt for a 5-0 lead.
 
	- Guilford would get on the board in the bottom of the 5th to cut the lead to 5-2, while a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the 6th would tie it 5-5.
 
	- Adanya Day would hit a homerun to right center at the top of the 7th to bring in Angelina Jones to help secure the 7-5 victory.
 
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
	- Katherine Murphy pitched a 5-inning shutout in game one, notching 6 strikeouts and just 3 hits.
 
	- Claire Yancey collected 3 RBIs in game one.
 
	- Adanya Day notched a 2 RBI homerun in game two, tallying 4 RBIs on the day.
