HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would control the game at the start, with shots from
Danny Alvarez,
Jorge Aguilar, and
Jorge Lemus testing keeper Bobby Wood. Good pressure from the Pacers in front would cause an own goal by Piedmont at 35:02 to put the Pacers up 1-0.
Nathan Cochran would get a good shot on Bobby Wood near the end of the half, but Wood would collect it to send the game into halftime 1-0.
The Pacers would continue to pressure the Lions, and at 53:25 they would be rewarded as

Josh Rutland, who would put it away to give the Pacers a 2-0 lead. The Lions would get a few good chances in the second half, but keeper

Jorge Aguilar, as the Pacers continued to press the Lions. The team would have several more good opportunities as they totaled 14 shots on goal in comparison to the Lions' 3, but the game would end at 3-0 in favor of the Pacers.
