Second Half Sends NCWC Over Pacers

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – William Peace University women's lacrosse fell 18-7 to NCWC in a USA South Conference matchup. The Pacers trailed just 9-7 at the half, but a strong push from the Battling Bishops in the second half would send them over the Pacers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Battling Bishops would get out to a strong start to lead 2-0  over the Pacers in the first period. Madison Bradley would tally a goal at 8:52 to cut the NCWC lead to 2-1, but NCWC would respond with two goals from Blaire Harley to lead 4-1. Samantha Autry would find the back of the net late in the first, with NCWC adding one more to lead 5-2 heading into the second.

The Pacers would push back in the second period, with an early goal from Evelyn Johnson cutting the NCWC to 5-3. Aryal Brandon would also put up several good saves for the Pacers. Madison Bradley would add her second as the Pacers trailed 7-4. Keslee Hylton, Samantha Autry, and Madison Bradley would each score late in the 2nd to bring the Pacers within 2 as they trailed 9-7 heading into halftime.

The Battling Bishops would hold the Pacers in the second half, with goalie Devin Bautz making several good saves on WPU. NCWC would add five goals in the third period and 4 goals in the fourth as they held back the Pacers, coming away with an 18-7 victory.
