Baseball Takes Down Elmira In Doubleheader

CARY, NC -- William Peace University baseball took a doubleheader win over Elmira College, winning game one 6-2 and game two 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One


The Pacers would start out strong in the bottom of the 1st with a single from Brett Kemp bringing home Nick Tyler for a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the 3rd, they would extend the lead 2-0, scoring on a balk. In the bottom of the 4th, Cole Robbins would bring home Patrick Rogan with a sacrifice bunt to lead 3-0, while a single from Kevin Gonzalez would score Cameron Butler to give the Pacer a 4-0 lead.

The Eagles would add 2 runs at the top of the 5th to cut the lead to 4-2, but a homerun from Patrick Rogan in the bottom of the 6th would seal the game 6-2 for the Pacers.

Game Two


The Pacers would dominate in game two, beginning with a single to center field from Jake Dacunto to score Brett Kemp and lead 1-0. A single from Keyon Green would bring the score to 2-0, while a single from Jake Norris would increase the lead to 3-0.

In the bottom of the 2nd, Hunter Ward's single to right field would drive home Nick Tyler to bring the score to 4-0. A walk from Kevin Gonzalez would increase the lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, while a sacrifice fly from Nick Tyler would score Jake Norris to give the Pacers a 6-0 lead. Philip Berger would notch 10 strikeouts to help secure the 6-0 Pacer win.
