Late Push From Battling Bishops Sends Them Over Pacers

RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University women's basketball fell to NC Wesleyan College by a score of 71-69.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first quarter would be a back-and-forth battle, with a layup from Stephanie Chandler putting the Pacers up 13-10. Faith Resto and Stormie Brown would both add last minute layups to put the Pacers up 17-12 heading into the second quarter.
  • A 3-pointer from Cierra Baker would bring the Pacers lead up to 22-17. Baker would add another shot from behind the arc, with Ninevah Reddick adding a layup to give the Pacers a 33-19 lead. The Pacers would go on a late run to lead 43-25 heading into halftime.
  • The Pacers would continue to roll in the third quarter, with a layup from Myla Barnes putting them up 51-33. A layup from Ninevah Reddick would give the Pacers a 56-37 lead. A few layups and free throws from the Pacers would keep them up 61-45 heading into the final quarter.
  • A jumper and a layup from Ninevah Reddick would keep the Pacers up 69-55 early in the 4th. The Battling Bishops would go on a late run to tie the game 69-69 before holding off the Pacers and scoring in the final seconds to win 71-69.
