RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University volleyball swept NC Wesleyan 3-0 in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. The Pacers will now host a semifinal game on Thursday, November 3rd.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One - MBU
Set One (25-20)
The Pacers would go on an early 5-point run with kills from
Georgia Grace Anderson,
Kelsey Bierbauer, and
Hannah Collier to lead 9-5. NCWU would tie it 11-11 before taking a brief 13-12 lead. Kills from
Landis Limon and
Shelby Cooper would put the Pacers back up 15-13, while an ace from Bierbauer would give them a 19-17 lead. A 3-point run at the end with kills from Limon and Cooper would end the set 25-20 for the Pacers to take a 1-0 lead.
Set Two (25-16)
The Battling Bishops would start off strong to lead 6-0 in set two. An impressive 7-point run from the Pacers with kills from
Hannah Collier,
Kelsey Bierbauer, and
Shelby Cooper would put them up 7-6. A 6-point run with kills from
Mackenzie Russell,
Hannah Collier, and
Logan Moore would bring the score to 18-9 in favor of the Pacers. Final kills from Collier, Limon, Cooper, and Bierbauer would end the set 25-16 and put the Pacers up 2-0.
Set Three (25-18)
The final set would be close early, with NCWU taking a 9-7 lead. A kill and two aces from
Mackenzie Russell would tie it up 11-11 before a big 7-point run from the Pacers with kills from
Hannah Collier,
Kelsey Bierbauer,
Landis Limon, and
Shelby Cooper would give WPU an 18-12 lead. A kill from Collier and an ace from
Hannah Ward would increase the lead to 24-17, with a final kill from Collier ending the set 25-18 and the match 3-0.
