Volleyball Ties Program Record With Win Over Meredith

RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University volleyball took down Meredith College 3-1 as they picked up their 24th win of the season, tying the program record for most wins in a season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (25-17)
Meredith would take an early 5-2 lead before a few aces from Hannah Collier and a kill from Landis Limon would put the Pacers up 6-5.  An ace from Logan Moore would increase the lead to 12-9, while a run with an ace and a kill from Collier and blocks from Limon would put the Pacers up 17-14. Final kills from Georgia Grace Anderson, as well as aces from Kelsey Bierbauer and Shelby Cooper, would end set one 25-17.

Set Two (25-19)
The Pacers would take a strong 9-5 lead in set two with kills from Shelby Cooper and aces from Hannah Ward. Kills from Landis Limon and Hannah Collier would increase the score to 15-11. Kills from Collier and Kelsey Bierbauer would bring the score to 22-17, while a few final errors would end the set 25-19.

Set Three (19-25)
Meredith would battle back to lead 7-3 early in set three. The Pacers would battle back with kills from Hannah Collier and an ace from Mackenzie Russell to lead 14-13, but the Avenging Angels would go on a run to take an 18-14 advantage. A few more quick runs would end the set 25-19 as Meredith brought the match score to 2-1.

Set Four (25-15)
In the final set, kills from Hannah Collier and Landis Limon would put the Pacers up 8-5. A kill from Kelsey Bierbauer, as well as a few more from Collier would increase the lead to an impressive 18-9. A final ace from Hannah Ward would end the set 25-15 and the match 3-1.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS FOR THE FOES
  • Lauren Bissette tallied 17 kills for Meredith.

The Pacers will head to Greensboro College to take on the Pride and Mary Baldwin on October 29th.
