RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University volleyball split the day as they fell 3-1 to Southern Virginia and swept Brevard 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One - SVU
Set One (19-25)
The Knights would take a quick 9-5 lead in set one. Kills from
Landis Limon and
Shelby Cooper would put the score at 15-12 as the Pacers trailed by just three. A strong run from the Knights would give them a 21-14 lead, while a few kills from Cooper and Limon would put the Pacers back within 3 as they trailed 22-19, but the Knights would grab the final three points to win 25-19.
Set Two (23-25)
The Pacers would take a 7-6 lead in set two with a kill from
Shelby Cooper before a run from SVU would put them ahead 11-7. A 5-point run with kills from
Hannah Collier,
Landis Limon, and Cooper would tie it 15-15. The Pacers would take a late 23-21 lead, but the Knights would tie it before taking a 25-23 win.
Set Three (26-24)
In the third set, the Pacers would take a big 6-0 lead to start, though the Knights would battle back to trail just 11-10 before tying it 16-16. A kill from
Georgia Grace Anderson would put the Pacers up 19-18. The Pacers would battle, and a final kill from Anderson would end the set 26-24 in favor of the Pacers as they trailed 2-1 in the match.
Set Four (26-24)
The final set would be tied 6-6 early before an ace from
Jordan Juanes and an attack error would put the Pacers up 12-8. A big run from the Knights would give them a 20-18 lead. A kill from
Hannah Collier would put the Pacers ahead 23-22, but the Knights would take the last few points to win 26-24.
Game Two - Brevard
Set One (25-19)
Kills from
Landis Limon,
Kelsey Bierbauer, and
Georgia Grace Anderson would give the Pacers an early 11-7 lead. Bierbauer and Cooper would add a few more kills from a 16-12 advantage, while kills from Limon and
Jordan Juanes would bring the score to 21-16. A final ace from Juanes would end the set 25-19 for the Pacers.
Set Two (26-24)
The second set would be a back-and-forth battle, with Brevard taking the initial 8-5 lead. A strong run from the Pacers with kills from
Kelsey Bierbauer and
Shelby Cooper would put them up 15-11. Brevard would rally to lead 21-18, but a few aces from
Hannah Ward would regain a 22-21 Pacer lead. A kill from Bierbauer and an attack error would end the set 26-24 for the Pacers.
Set Three (25-11)
In the final set, aces from
Jordan Juanes and kills from
Shelby Cooper,
Landis Limon, and
Kelsey Bierbauer would put the Pacers up 9-1. Aces from
Hannah Ward and kills from Juanes would increase the lead to 19-8, with final aces from
Mackenzie Russell and a kill from
Tameka Adams ending the set 25-11 and the game 3-0 for the Pacers.
