Volleyball Takes Down Pfeiffer 3-1 On Senior Day

RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University volleyball took down Pfeiffer 3-1 as they celebrated seniors Logan Moore, Nancy Gamewell, Emerson Scollo, and Shelby Cooper.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (25-13)
The Pacers would take a big 7-3 in the first set with kills from Kelsey Bierbauer, Landis Limon, and Shelby Cooper as well as an ace from Logan Moore. A service ace from Mackenzie Russell and a kill from Hannah Collier would increase their lead to 18-8, while a final kill from Kelsey Bierbauer would end the set 25-13.

Set Two (25-16)
Kills from Shelby Cooper and Landis Limon would give the Pacers a 6-1 lead in set two. A 5-point run with kills from Kelsey Bierbauer and Georgia Grace Anderson would bring the score to 14-3. The Falcons would go on a run to trail just 16-12, but final kills from Cooper and Anderson would end the set 25-16.

Set Three (23-25)
The Falcons would battle in the third set, taking an 8-6 lead early. A 5-point run with a few aces from Nancy Gamewell and kills from Landis Limon and Kelsey Bierbauer would put the Pacers up 15-11. The Falcons would rally to lead 21-19, but a kill from Hannah Collier and an attack error would tie it 23-23. However the Falcons would grab the last points to win 25-23.

Set Four (25-15)
A big start in the fourth set with kills from Shelby Cooper, Georgia Grace Anderson, and Kelsey Bierbauer as well as three aces from Vivian Camplin would put the Pacers up 14-4. The Falcons would battle back to trail 17-12, but a kill from Hannah Collier and an ace, as well as a kill from Landis Limon, would put WPU up 20-12. Final kills from Bierbauer and Collier would end the set 25-15 and the match 3-1.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS FOR THE FOES
  • Madison Honeycutt led the Falcons with 11 kills.

The Pacers will head to Salem College on October 22nd for a tri-match, taking on the Spirits at 2PM and NCWU at 4PM.
