Falcons Outlast Pacers In Final Quarter

MISENHEIMER, NC -- William Peace University women's basketball fell to Pfeiffer University 71-63. Both teams battled in a back-and-forth contest, but the Falcons would dig in during the final quarter to defeat the Pacers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pacers would get out to an early 4-0 lead with layups from Kiera Williams and Stormie Brown. The Falcons would take a brief 8-6 lead before a layup from Stephanie Chandler would tie it 8-8. Chandler would drive under the net again to put the Pacers up 12-11, and a layup from Kiera Williams would bring the score to 16-13. The Falcons would tie it 16-16 at the end of the quarter.
  • In the 2nd quarter, the Falcons would take a 26-18 lead as they held off the Pacers. Layups from Pamela Mock and Cierra Baker would cut the lead to 26-22, with Stephanie Chandler's layup tying it 26-26. A final layup from Pamela Mock would keep it tied 28-28 heading into halftime.
  • The start of the third quarter would see some quick baskets, with the Falcons taking an early 35-32 lead. A jumper from Pamela Mock would cut the Pfeiffer lead to 39-35, while a layup from Stormie Brown would bring the score to 39-37. A layup and free throw from Pamela Mock would put the Pacers up 42-40, but the Falcons would push ahead to lead 48-44 heading into the final quarter.
