Men's Soccer Shuts Out Warren Wilson In Home Opener

CARY, NC -- William Peace University men's soccer team shutout Warren Wilson College 5-0. The Pacers are back in action tomorrow at 8PM against Johnson & Wales University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would get on the attack early, with Jorge Aguilar and Ivan Ponce challenging the Owls' goalkeeper with several good chances. Aguilar would find the back of the net at 23:22 to give the Pacers a 1-0 lead. Pacer goalkeeper Jacob Smith would keep the Owls off the scoreboard at 37:24 after a shot from Ethan Vanderbleek, and would send the Pacers into the half leading 1-0.

Donnie Leahy would get the Pacers rolling early in the second half to increase their lead to 2-0 with his goal, assisted by Ivan Ponce. The Pacers would continue to test Warren Wilson, dominating possession, and Jorge Lemus would score two quick goals - one at 76:20 and one at 80:52 (assisted by TJ Hurd) - to give the Pacers a 4-0 advantage. The Pacers would continue to drive at the net, and a commotion in front of the net would cause an own goal on the Owls to bring the score to 5-0 with just a few minutes remaining to secure the game 5-0.
