Pacers Stay Undefeated In Conference Play To Finish Regular Season With Wins Over Pride

Raleigh, NC -- William Peace University Volleyball defeated Greensboro College in a conference matchup (3-0) and a nonconference matchup (3-1) to finish the regular season undefeated in conference play and the #1 seed in the USA South. The Pacers will host the semifinals of the USA South East Division next Wednesday, with their opponent to be determined. This marks the first time in program history that the team has gone undefeated in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One 
The first set of the game would be a back-and-forth matchup, with neither team able to gain early traction. The Pacers would take a 12-9 lead with a kill from Brienna Laskowski, but the Pride would tie it back up 19-19 on a service ace from Olivia Norris. The set would go back-and-forth, with a final kill by Brittany Carpenter sealing it 26-24 for WPU. The Pacers would take a dominant 12-5 lead in set two on a kill by Brittany Carpenter. They would control most of the set, with a service ace by Bergin Gillespie putting them up 20-10. A final ace from Hannah Collier would clinch the set 25-12 and give WPU a 2-0 lead. In the final set, the Pacers would gain early momentum, taking a 15-5 lead. WPU would continue to roll with their momentum, with Logan Moore securing the 25-9 set win for a 3-0 conference victory.

Game Two 
The Pacers would take an early 6-1 lead on a kill by Hannah Collier in set one. A kill by Shelby Cooper would put them up 18-13. The Pride would close the gap to 22-18, but a few attack errors and a kill by Brittany Carpenter would end the set 25-18. Set two would be closer, with the Pride holding a 12-10 edge over the Pacers. Despite a late comeback attempt, Greensboro would win the set 25-19 to tie the game 1-1. In set three, the Pacers and the Pride would be tied 9-9 early. A kill by Hannah Collier would give them a 15-12 lead, while a service ace by Kyra Harrison would bring the score to 22-15. Two final service errors would seal the set 25-19 for the Pacers to lead the game 2-1. Th Pacers would dominate the final set, leading 11-3 early on five consecutive service aces from Mackenzie Russell. A kill from Russell would bring the score to 18-6, with final kills from Kelsee Kylton and Hannah Collier securing the set 25-14 and the game 3-1.
