Baseball Falls In Doubleheader to Brevard

Brevard, NC -- William Peace University baseball was swept in a double header against Brevard College. The Pacers would lose the first game by a margin of 15-1. In game two, the Pacers would start off strong but Brevard would still come out with the 9-7 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One - The first inning would get the ball rolling for Brevard as they would get 4 players to the home plate; Jason Jucker, JJ Wilkes, Logan Clark, and Holden Lanier, making the score 4-0. Brevard would continue to dominate as they would score 3 more times in the second inning with runs from Zach Allison, JJ Wilkes, and Logan Clark. In the third inning the Pacers would begin to connect only allowing 1 run from Noah Harris making the score 8-0. The Pacers would get on the scoreboard for the first time of the game with Logan Barbour scoring on a throwing error. In the Bottom of the 4th, Brevard would not let off the gas as they scored 7 more times with runs from Zach Allison, JJ Wilkes, Jason Jucker, Noah Harris, Holden Lanier, Jack Atkinson, and Christian Ezzell making the final score 15-1.

Game Two - Alec Seaton would help get the Pacers on the board first in the second inning getting Nathan Holt and Hunter Ward through home plate. Jake Dacunto would extend the Pacer's lead by scoring on a wild pitch making the score 3-0 going into the third inning. In the top of the third inning the Pacers would continue their run scoring 4 more times from Logan Barbour, Nathan Holt, Jake Dacunto, and Alec Seaton to make the score 7-0. Brevard would take control for the rest of the game as they scored 9 times to take the lead in the second game. The scoring runs came from Zach Allisson (2), Jack Atkinson (2), Jason Jucker, Peter Fumero, Daiquon Davenport, Logan Clark, and Tristan Robinson, making the final score 9-7.

  • Philip Berger pitched 4 innings, recording 4 hits and allowing 2 runs after facing 18 batters
