THE BASICS
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
William Peace would come out and take an early lead as Kofi Appiagyei would find Leahy on the right side with a ball played over the top. Leahy would take it from there as he would maintain composure inside the 18 yard box and tuck it away back post to give the Pacers the 1-0 lead just under five minute into the game. Shaw would however respond as the flow of the game shifted their way. Nathan Monne would get on the end of a service from the right wing to bring the score level at (1-1). The Bears would eventually take the lead three minutes later after a defensive mistake from the Pacers. Yassin Fawzy would slot home a cross from the top of the 18 to give Shaw the (1-2) lead at 18:12 in the first half.
-
Down the stretch in the first half the game would slow down significantly as neither team created many scoring chances. The Pacers would go into halftime trailing (1-2)

The second half would see both teams start off slow as only one shot would be recorded in the first ten minutes of the half. After Jorge Aguilar won the ball in the middle of the pitch he would find Donnie Leahy with a ball over the top. Leahy would again show great poise in front of goal as he dribbled past two defenders and put away his second goal of the match.Leahy's goal would bring the score level at (2-2) at the 57:27 mark. Shaw would find their best scoring of the half after the Bears would draw a penalty kick at 70:51 mark of the second half. Pacer goalie Jacob Smith who had just entered the match five minutes prior would come up big as he would deny Nathan Monne of his second goal of the day. Lehay would prove to be a handful all afternoon for Shaw's defense as Leahy again would be in on goal but would be brought down by Shaw's last defender just outside the box. Shaw would then go a man down with just under 15 minutes left in the game. With two minutes left in the game Leahy would again find himself in on goal but Shaw goalkeeper Juan Ramirez would deny Leahy of his hattrick with an incredible top hand save. The Pacers would create one last chance on a break away opportunity under 30 seconds left but Ramirez would once hold the Pacers at bay. The game would finish all level at two a piece.
