Raleigh, NC -- William Peace University women's basketball defeated Pfeiffer University by a score of 96-58. Jaymesha Sanders recorded a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Falcons would get out to a quick 13-6 lead over the Pacers in the first quarter, but a few layups by Lauryn Cross and Jaymesha Sanders would close the gap to 14-12. A layup and a few free throws by Kiera Williams would give WPU an 18-14 edge, with Maria DeVincenzo's drive under the net ending the quarter 20-17 in favor of the Pacers.
• DeVincenzo would add a shot from behind the arc to increase the lead to 25-19, while Tatianna Occena's 3-pointer would bring the score to 34-25. A layup by Jaymesha Sanders would increase the Pacer lead to 39-26, with a few free throws by Occena sending the Pacers into halftime leading 44-32.
• The Pacer defense would continue to hold the Falcons, with a layup by Jaymesha Sanders bringing the score to 52-40. Pamela Mock and Lauryn Cross would each add a few last minute points to send the Pacers into the final quarter leading 64-48.
• Sydney Austin would add a few shots from the foul line to keep the Pacers in the lead 71-50, while Stephanie Chandler's drive under the net would bring the score to 80-54. A shot from behind the arc by Faith Resto would increase the Pacer lead to 87-55, with Alysiah Taylor's final jump shot securing the 95-58 win.
