Pacers Fall To Pride After Late Goals In Second Half

Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's soccer team fell to Greensboro College by a score of 2-0. Kasey Wilkins made several notable saves in the first half to keep the game at 0-0 heading into halftime, but the Pacers were unable to get on the board in the second half and would fall 2-0.

The Pride would challenge Pacer goalkeeper Kasey Wilkins early in the first half as she came up with a big save at 5:46 on a penalty kick by Alexis Chase. Wilkins would stand tall again for the Pacers at 25:21 and 31:30. Victoria Finklea would get the first opportunity for WPU at 34:37, with Jordan Rogers' shot a minute later challenging Pride goalkeeper Hannah Rice. Kasey Wilkins would keep the game at 0-0 heading into halftime as she made a few key saves near the end of the half.

Raine Greene and Lillian Bates would attempt to break through the scoreless game at the start of the second half, but the Pride would get the first goal as a header by Angela Niles would make its way past goalkeeper Abigail Mosteller. Shaelyn Webb would get a solid chance on net at 74:56, but Pride goalkeeper Hannah Rice would keep the Pacers at bay. The Pride would take a 2-0 lead at 79:01 as Alexis Chase would score on a breakaway, which would secure the 2-0 win for the Pacers.
