Second Half surge Propels Camels Past Pacers

BUIES CREEK,NC-- The William Peace Men's Basketball team opened up their 2021-22 season on the road on Tuesday evening in an exhibition game against the D1 Fighting Camels of Campbell University. After a strong first half where the Pacers shot 46.2% from behind the arch the Pacers would be unable to contain the Campbell offense in the second half.  The Fighting Camels would start the second half on a 26-8 run that would give them a 32 point lead at the 12:44 mark in the second half. The Pacers offense would go quiet in the second half as the Camels held the Pacers 22 second half points while shooting 8-27 from the floor. The Pacers in their first outing of the season would eventually fall to the Fighting Camels by a score 85-50 but showed real grit and poise against a talented Campbell team who reached the Big South Tournament finals last spring.
