Pacers Fall In Nonconference Matchup Against Panthers

RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University men's basketball fell to a tough Ferrum College by a score of 87-54. The Pacers now look ahead to their first conference game of the season against Greensboro College on Tuesday, November 30th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Panthers would dominate early, going on a 14-point run to lead 17-3 in the first half. A shot from behind the arc by Garrett Phillips would cut down the lead to 22-9, while a 3-pointer from Tyler Parton would bring the score to 28-12. The Pacers would continue to chip away at the Panthers' lead, with a shot from behind the arc by Beau Bryant bringing the score to 32-19. Another 3-pointer from Tyler Parton would bring WPU within 11 points as they trailed 35-25. The Panthers would take control of the end of the half to take a 49-29 lead heading into halftime.
  • A few free throws from Garrett Phillips and Tyler Parton would bring the Pacers within 12 as they trailed 49-37. More shots from the foul line from Rashod Rouse and Isaiah Everette Lewis would put the score at 55-43 as the Pacers attempted to cut down the Panthers' lead. A quick run by the Panthers would put them ahead 64-43. The Panthers would then get a few good stops to take a 77-49 lead before a 3-pointer from Beau Bryant would stop their run. A few final free throws from the Panthers would secure the 87-54 loss for the Pacers.
