HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (25-15)
The Spirits would take an early 4-1 lead in set one before a 3-point run from the Pacers with a service ace from Keslee Hylton would put the team up 8-8. A 4-point run with kills from Landis Limon, Shelby Cooper, and Madeline Simpson and a service ace from Mackenzie Russell would bring the score to 12-9 in favor of WPU. A kill by Georgia Grace Anderson would put the Pacers up 17-13, with a 5-point run with two service aces from Keslee Hylton bringing the score to 22-14. A final block from Shelby Cooper and Landis Limon would end the set 25-15 for WPU.
Set Two (25-17)
The Pacers would go on an early 6-point run with kills from
Mackenzie Russell and
Madeline Simpson and a service ace from
Emerson Scollo to go up 8-2. A kill from
Emerson Scollo and a service ace from
Mackenzie Russell would put the score at 14-6, while a 4-point run with kills by
Madeline Simpson and
Chassie Jacops putting the Pacers ahead 19-11. The Spirits would battle back, but a final kill from
Emerson Scollo would end the set 25-17 as the Pacers took a 2-0 lead in the game.
Set Three (25-17)
The Spirits would go up 4-0 early in set one before a late 4-point run with kills from
Keslee Hylton and
Jordan Juanes bringing the score to 12-10 in favor of the Pacers. A kill from
Alyssa Poteat would put WPU ahead 15-13, and a 4-point run with kills from
Keslee Hylton and a service ace from
Casey Dees would give the Pacers a 19-14 lead. A kill from
Ciara O'Conney and a service ace by
Nancy Gamewell would bring the score to 24-16, with
Jordan Juanes putting away the final kill for a 25-17 win in the set and a 3-0 win in the game.
