Cary, NC - The William Peace University baseball team defeated Dean College on Tuesday, March 10th by a score of (13-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st - The Bulldogs would get out to an early (1-0) lead at the top of the first as a single up the middle by Andrew DiRito would allow Jeff Sharnick to cross home plate. The Pacers would get out of the inning as shortstop
Hunter Ward would set a double play into motion before
Robby Casey was able to strike out the final batter. In the bottom of the inning,
Gavin Taylor's single to left field would get him on base before some aggressive baserunning allowed him to steal second and third base.
Hunter Ward would bring home Taylor with a hit to the back of left field to tie it up (1-1).
5th - Brian Dovidio's single at the top of the fifth would get the momentum going for the Bulldogs as it would allow Giuseppe Casabianca to score for a (2-1) lead. Matt Calahan's single to center field would nearly bring home Ben Chajet, but an impressive throw from center fielder
Nathan Holt to catcher
Cole Robbins would keep the Bulldogs from increasing their lead.Â
6th -
Hunter Ward would tie the game (2-2) for the Pacers in the bottom of the sixth as his double to left field would score
Alec Seaton. Tyshawn Barret would cross home plate just a few moments later to give the Pacers a (3-2) lead.
Nick Montrose would follow up with a double to right field to send home
Hunter Ward (4-2).
Logan Barbour would come home on a sacrifice fly by
Cole Robbins to increase the Pacer lead to (5-2). The Pacers would get the bases loaded and a walk for
Gavin Taylor would bring home
Nick Montrose (6-2).
Nathan Holt would steal home just a few moments later to increase the lead to (7-2).
Tyshawn Barrett's double through the left side would score two more runs for WPU (9-2). The Pacers would continue to roll as
Logan Barbour's triple would bring the score to (11-2).
7th - A fielding error by the Bulldogs would allow
Nathan Holt to cross home plate and give the Pacers a 10 run advantage (12-2), with
Gavin Taylor scoring a few moments later (13-2).
8th - The Bulldogs would attempt to gain some traction in the game at the top of the 8th as they would score one run on a sacrifice fly by Bryce Reilly (13-3), but the Pacer defense would hold them to just one run.Â
9th -
Gerard Chamra would step on the mound to close out the game for the Pacers, recording one strikeout and securing the (13-3) victory.

- Tyler McAloon pitched 5 innings for the Bulldogs as he recorded 7 strikeouts.
- Matt Calahan was 3 for 4 at the plate.
