Baseball Opens 2020 Season With 3-0 Sweep Over Brevard

The William Peace University baseball team concluded their series with Brevard College with a (12-5) win to sweep the series (3-0).

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
Brevard would take an early (1-0) lead at the top of first as a single by Johnny Flynn would bring home Jason Jucker. The Pacers would respond in the bottom of the first as Tyshawn Barret's single would score Nathan Holt (1-1). Cade Stecher's single at the top of the second would score Beau Shealy (2-1). Johnny Flynn would continue to be hot at the plate as his double to left field scored JJ Wilkes (3-1), while two singles by Ryan Roon and Beau Shealy would give Brevard a (5-1) advantage. The bottom of the 4th proved to be a big inning for the Pacers as Alec Seaton would hit a single to score Jackson May (5-2). 

Nathan Holt's big hit to the left side would score 3 for the Pacers as he brought home Gavin Taylor, Alec Seaton, and Jake Norris to tie it up (5-5). Three consecutive hits by Tyshawn Barrett, Tate Proctor, and Hunter Ward would give WPU their first lead of the game (8-5). Jackson May would continue to keep the Pacers rolling in the bottom of the fourth as his single scored Logan Barbour and Hunter Ward (10-5). The Pacers would close out the inning with two more runs as Jackson May and Jake Norris would each steal home on a few wild pitches (12-5). Neither team would allow anymore runs for the remainder of the game as the Pacers closed out the series with a (12-5) win.
