Bryant And Sellers Lead Pacers To Win Over The Panthers

The William Peace University men's basketball team defeated LaGrange College in a USA South Conference match-up by a score of (88-68). 

THE BASICS
  • Final score: William Peace 88, LaGrange 68
  • Records: William Peace (12-11) (10-5), LaGrange (7-16) (6-10)
  • Location: LaGrange, GA

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Panthers quickly got the game started as Ronald Youngblood hit a quick jump shot (2-0). John Burwell would soon get the first points for the Pacers with a layup after two made free throws from the Panthers (2-4). Scoring would be even between both teams throughout the first ten minutes of the game, as both teams shared jump shots. Tyson Sellers would begin to extend the lead with a clean bucket from behind the arc (18-15).
  • A made layup by Beau Bryant would see the Pacers to their first double-digit lead against the LaGrange Panthers (34-24). The Panthers would try to fight back as they made 2 free throws, but Tyson would soon respond with another clean shot from behind the arc (38-27). Trey Bryant entered the game with only 1:39 left in the first half. He would be an important sub as he would score the last basket of the first half with a layup (42-35).
  • Drew Shepherd got the second half started with a jump shot for the Panthers (42-37). Tyson Sellers would soon get a 6 point run started for the Pacers with a clean layup (54-43). Not too far after, the Pacers would go on another run, this time a 6-2 point run that started with a free throw made by Mikal Gaylord (62-49).
  • The Pacers would continue to dominate the second half as they would go on yet another run, this time an 11 point run with multiple 3 pointers made by Tyson Sellers and Camden Ferguson (73-52). In the middle of that run, Trey Bryant had a house-shaking dunk to get the crowd hype. The Pacer's dominance over the game would show as they would go up 20 points over the Panthers. The Pacers would win the game by 20 points with a final score of (88-68) to seal the deal.

FOR THE FOES
  • Kyle Brown led the Panthers with 18 points.
  • Lincoln Anderson notched 16 points and 8 rebounds.

STATS OF THE GAME
  • The Pacers shot at 51.5% from the field in comparison to the Hawks' 35.9%.
  • WPU shot at an impressive 71.4% from the free throw line in comparison to the Panthers 78.6%
