Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's lacrosse team will open the 2020 season in Ferrum, VA against Ferrum College on February 21st. The Pacers finished the 2019 season, which was the program's inaugural season, with a 10-5 overall record and a 7-4 conference record to finish 5th in the conference. Their season ended in the first round of the USA South Conference tournament where they fell 13-9 to Methodist University.
The Pacers were led in 2019 by Dana Florian, who tallied 64 goals and 19 assists, and Rylie Toomey, who contributed 61 goals and 16 assists. Allison Schaper also added 60 goals and 17 assists. Goalie Alyssa Martinez had 45 saves as she notched 4 wins on the season.
The Pacers did not face Ferrum in the 2019 season. The Panthers finished 4-12 overall and 1-8 in the conference. They were led by Kaitlyn Harley, who tallied 36 goals, and Micaela Harvey, who added 31 goals and 9 assists. Goalie Shaianne Ermini finished the season with 126 saves and 3 wins.
Coach Dijoné Scurry enters her second year with the women's lacrosse team. She is assisted by Michael Bagnasco.
