Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's soccer team fell to LaGrange College by a score of 1-0. The Pacers now hold a record of 1-3.

In the first half, the Panthers would start out on the aggressive. Syndey Dailey put a shot on the Pacer net at 3:56 with keeper Kasey Wilkins coming up with an early save. The Panthers would continue to pressure the Pacer defense, and Dynasty Burchett would put one in the top left corner at 13:10 to give LaGrange a 1-0 lead. Gabrielle Jones would get the Pacer's first chance of the first half with a shot at 23:12, but keeper Emma Smith was sharp in net. Kasey Wilkins would be tested again by the Panther offense and she came up with 2 quick saves at 27:25 and 29:09. The game would head into halftime with the Panthers leading 1-0.

The start of the second half would be a fast one for the Pacers as Grace Marion would have a chance in front of goal that would miss just high off of a cross from Rachel Alford. The Pacers would maintain the pressure going forward as Rachel Alford would create a handful of chances off the right side. The Pacers would outshoot LaGrange 8-2 in the second half but would be unable to convert as Grace Marion would have two of her efforts saved by LaGrange keeper Emma Smith as LaGrange held on for a 1-0 win.

THE BREAKDOWN:

• Grace Marion and Rachel Alford would each have 3 shots.

• Kasey Wilkins finished with 3 saves in 45 minutes of play

THE FOES:

• Dynasty Burchett scored the lone goal for the Panthers.

• Zoe Watts finished with 4 shots.

WHAT'S NEXT:

The Pacers head to Lynchburg, VA to play Randolph College (2-1-1) on September 17th. Kickoff begins at 7 p.m.
