Women's Soccer Ties Randolph after Double Overtime

Lynchburg, VA -- The William Peace University women's soccer team tied with the Randolph Wildcats by a score of 0-0. The Pacers now hold a 1-3-1 record.

In the first half, freshman Rachel Alford would get the first chance for either team on a shot down center at 5:11, with freshman Raine Greene following up with another shot at 7:12 and keeper Deaven Milam making both saves. Keeper Kasey Wilkins would get the game tied at zero with a quick save at 17:57 on a shot by Sara Bane. Bane would challenge Wilkins twice more in the first half at 33:16 and 37:12. Neither team was able to get much offense going in the first half, and the game would head into halftime tied at zero.

In the second half, Raine Greene would get a chance just five minutes in but was unable to find the back of the net. The Wildcats had two quick opportunities at 54:32 and 54:44, but Abigail Mosteller, who came in for the second half, was quick on her feet. The Pacers and the Wildcats would trade chances in a back-and-forth matchup, but neither team was able to get on the board. Freshman Kyra Delaney would have a late chance at 88:30, but the game would head into overtime tied at zero.

In overtime, both teams would trade back-and-forth chances, but the keepers were strong in net. The game would end after two overtime periods tied at zero.

THE BREAKDOWN:
Kasey Wilkins had 4 saves in net for the Pacers in the first half, while Abigail Mosteller had 5.

Raine Greene had 4 shots on goal, with Kyra Delaney tallying 3. 

THE FOES:
Deaven Milam had 12 saves in net for the Wildcats.

Sara Bane had 14 shots and 4 shots on goal.

The Pacers come home to play Brevard College (0-2-2) on Saturday, September 21st at 7 p.m. The game will be held in Cary, NC at WakeMed Soccer Park
