Laurinburg,NC-- The William Peace University Women's Soccer team fell to the Knights of St. Andrews University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-1.
The Pacers would go down one after Caitlin Hill put the Knights up from an assist by Mughan Rugel with 23:45 minutes remaining in the first half. William Peace would then react and put the Knights under pressure tallying 11 shots in the remaining time in the first half. St. Andrews would hold the Pacers at bay heading into halftime as they held onto a 1-0 lead.
Less than a minute into the second half the Pacers offensive pressure would finally pay off as Freshmen forward Raine Greene would bring the score level. Greene would spearhead the Pacers offense in the second half as she would fire off 6 shots but the Knights goalkeeper Kaitlin Locklear would come up with five big saves to keep the score all squared at one.Â
The match would head into overtime as neither team could find a breakthrough. The Pacers would continue to push forward in the overtime period but Kaitlin Locklear would again come up big with three timely saves. With under two minutes left in the first overtime period Jerissa Grimes, against the run of play, would find the back of the net and give St. Andrews the golden goal victory.

The Pacers head to Decatur,GA on September 7th as they match up against Agnes Scott. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00pm. The Scotties come into the matchup at 0-1 after falling to Randolph College 1-0 last weekend.
