Women's Lacrosse Continues Impressive Winning Streak in Rocky Mount

The Basics:
  • Final Score: William Peace 20 N.C. Wesleyan 5
  • Records: William Peace 6-0 N.C. Wesleyan 0-7
  • Location: Rocky Mount, NC

How it Happened:
  • The Pacers would begin the game up 5-0 in the first five minutes of play, Rylie Toomey would have three of those goals.
  • The Bishops battled back to score in a man-up situation.
  • The Pacers scored four more goals in the following five minutes with a man down, Allison Schaper would have two of the four.
  • The Pacers would lead, 9-1 with 17:47 remaining in the first half.
  • WPU would go on a 6-2 run in the final minutes of the first half, Toomey would have six goals heading into halftime. The Bishops would trail 15-3 at the break.
  • The Bishops scored five minutes into the second period in a man-up situation.
  • Kirsten Dunham would answer the Bishops and begin a 5-1 run lead by the Pacers. Dana Florian scored the next two goals with a man down, extending the Pacer lead to 18-4. Allison Schaper would score a hat trick in the remaining minutes and Dunham would score the 20th goal of the evening for the Pacers in the final ten minutes.
  • The Pacers would take the Bishops, 20-5.


Pacer Top Performers:
  • Rylie Toomey lead the Pacers with six goals and one assist.
  • Dana Florian finished with five goals, and three assists, to go along with four ground balls and four draw controls.
  • Allison Schaper and Anne Evans both had hat-tricks. Schaper also tallied seven draw controls.

For the Foes:
  • Alli Cucinotta finished with two goals and two assists.
  • Grace Look finished with two goals.
  • Millenia Crespo finished with 17 saves in net for the Bishops.

Stats of the Game:
  • The Pacers out-shot the Bishops, 43-9.
  • The Bishops finished with 16 turnovers to the Pacers, 9.
  • The Pacers won draw controls 16-9.

The women's lacrosse team will play their next game on Tuesday, March 19 against Pfeiffer University. The Pacers take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. at Athens Drive High School.
