HOW IT HAPPENED:
GAME 1

  • In the top of the first inning Blake Hartman would give the Tigers an early lead with a solo homerun to right field.

  • The Pacer bats would answer right back with a four run inning in the bottom of the first.

  • Nathan Holt would draw a leadoff walk, Easton Payton would then reach on a fielder's choice. With runners on first and second Tyler Galloway would single to drive in Nathan Holt.

  • Spencer Claus would eventually drive in Galloway with an RBI single to center field.

  • The Pacers would add two more runs as Mikey Anerton would single to right field and bring home Tyler Tilson. Spencer Claus would also score after a throwing error from the catcher.

  • After Mckinley Stanbery retired the side in order in the top of the second, the Pacers would add another run in the bottom of the second thanks to an Easton Payton RBI single that would drive home Nathan Holt.

  • The Tigers would get to Stanbery in the top of the third with a 3 run inning. After the first two Tiger batters reached base, lead-off man Blake Hartman would continue to stay hot at the plate and drive in two runs with a single to left field. With the bases loaded the Tigers would add their third run of the inning on a balk.

  • Stanbery would get in a grove over the next five innings, allowing no runs and 0 hits as well as three straight 1,2,3 innings in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings.

  • Samuel Peddycord would come in to close out the game in the top of the 9th in relief of Stanbery and allow 0 runs, 0 hits while striking out two.

GAME 2

  • In Game 2 the Pacers would go up 2-0 in the bottom of the second as a Michael Sterne groundout to second would be enough to drive in Alec Seaton. A Parker Fernstrum RBI single to right field would add the second run as Tyler Tilson would score from third.

  • Hampden Sydney would add one run in the third on an Andrew Kasis Sacrifice Fly to left field.

  • In the fourth inning Jacob Bartle and Jonathan Triesler would each drive in a run on RBI singles to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead.

  • The Tigers would add an insurance run with a Tyler Blevins homerun in the top of the fifth.

  • The Pacers would not be able to cut the Tiger's lead in the last two innings thanks in part to great defensive plays from Hampden Sydney.

  • The Pacers would come close in the bottom of the sixth with runners on first and second with no outs. Cameron Maye would pick off Gavin Wheeler at second and would get Parker Fernstrum to groundout into 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.

  • Hampden Sydney would make it 5-2 with a Chase Counts Sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh and hold the Pacers in the bottom of the seventh with a 1,2,3 inning.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS

  • Mckinley Stanbery would pitch 8 innings allowing 4 runs on 3 hits to go along with 4 strikeouts.
