HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, the Pacers got off to a hot start as Trey Bryant, Camden Ferguson and John Burwell would give WPU a (10-0) advantage. Camden Ferguson would draw a foul and go 3 for 3 from the line as the Pacers led (17-10). Methodist would bring the game within one (17-16) but a layup by Donolly Tyrell Jr. would bring the score up to (19-16).Â
- The Monarchs would take a brief (20-19) lead after some made free throws, but a 3-pointer by Tyson Sellers and a layup by Beau Bryant would give WPU a (24-22) advantage. A few shots from the foul line by Mikal Gaylord would allow the Pacers to lead (36-34). The Monarchs would make a big push near the end of the half and would lead (45-40) heading into halftime.
- In the second half, Trey Bryant would bring the Pacers within 3 as they trailed (51-48) with a few shots from the foul line. A shot from behind the arch by Camden Ferguson would tie it up (51-51). Beau Bryant would tally four consecutive free throws to give WPU a (57-53) advantage. Ti'Quan Whitmore's 3-pointer would give the Pacers a (62-53) lead.
- A shot from behind the arch by Mikal Gaylord increased the Pacer lead to (65-53). They continued to control the game, leading (73-59) on a layup by Beau Bryant. Trey Bryant would give the Pacers a (80-67) advantage with a 3-pointer. The Pacers dominated for the rest of the game, taking advantage of several free throws to win the game (93-79).
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
- Trey Bryant recorded a double-double as he tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds.
- John Burwell also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Kaymon Mitchell had a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds.
- Danye Durden was 6 for 6 from the foul line as he tallied 12 points.
STATS OF THE GAME
- The Pacers were 41.3% from the field in comparison to Methodist's 38.2%.
- WPU went 83.8% from the free throw line.
