Pacers Continue Impressive Start With 77-60 Win Over Bridgewater

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the first quarter the Pacers started off slow, but they clawed their way back to tie the game at (13-13). Mikayla Ray drew an offensive foul to get a much needed stop for the Pacers. The Pacers would end the first quarter up (22-18).
  • In the second quarter, the Pacers started off strong by going on an (11-4) run to put the Pacers up (33-22), with Lauryn Cross tallying some early points for WPU with 5 consecutive points. The Eagles responded late in the 2nd quarter to cut the Pacer lead to 1 (41-40). Sydney Austin and Eva Holloway both contributed mid-range jumpers extended the Pacer lead to (45-41) to end the first half.
  • Early in the third quarter, both teams played very well defensively, but a late push by the Pacers would increase their lead to 12 (60-48) going into the fourth and final quarter of the game. Mikayla Ray and Jaymesha Sanders had several successful attempts from the foul line to increase the Pacer advantage.
  • The fourth quarter would see the Pacers continue to lead over the Eagles as Jaymesha Sanders continued to have a hot hand. Sanders would add several from the free throw line, and the Pacers would go onto win the game (77-60).
PACER TOP PERFORMERS FOR THE FOES
  • Mary Ruth Shifflett had a team-high 13 points and shot 30% from behind the arch.
  • McKenzie Jenkins led the Eagles with 8 rebounds.
STATS OF THE GAME
  • The Pacers shot 42.9% from the 3-point line (6 of 14) to Bridgewater's 20.0% (6 of 30).
  • The Pacers shot 45.6% (26 of 57) from the field to Bridgewater's 30.9% (21 of 68).
