HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mikayla Ray and Lauryn Cross would lead the Pacers in the first quarter with 8 points each as they took a (21-16) lead. Cross got the Pacers on the board first as she drained a 3-point shot early on.
- In the second, the Piedmont Lions came out strong as they tallied 32 points and holding the Pacers to 16 second quarter points. Mikayla Ray and Cierra Baker would both finish the quarter with 3 points each, with an assist on Cierra's 3-pointer coming from Lauryn Cross (37-48)
- The Pacers would come back with a push in the third quarter and outscore the Lions 17-13 as Mariah Partin and Khadijah Daniels recorded several points for WPU, but the Lions would still hold the upper hand going into the fourth quarter (54-61)
- The fourth quarter would see the Pacers fighting hard to regain the lead before the final buzzer. Sydney Austin would add 7 points of her total 12 points, but it wouldn't be enough as the Pacers fell just short (69-75).
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
- Mikayla Ray finished with a double-double with a team-high 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Ray was also 11-14 from the free throw line.
- Lauryn Cross shot 4 for 6 from behind the arch shooting (66.7%).
- Khadijah Daniels finished with 14 points and 4 assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Amari Price finished with a game-high 26 points and 8 assists.
- Nakiyah Washington finished with a double-double with 13 rebounds and 15 points.
STATS OF THE GAME
- The Pacers shot 44.4% from the 3-point line (8-18) in comparison to the Lions 40% (6-15).
