Raleigh, NC-- The William Peace University women's volleyball team fell to Meredith College 3-0 on October 8th in a USA South Conference match-up. The Pacers are now 13-6 overall and 3-2 in conference.
In set one, WPU came out with high energy and drove Meredith College to take a timeout as the Pacers went up 10-6. Junior
Brianna Davis had a momentum-shifting dig that kept the Pacers alive in a back-and-forth rally that ended in a huge block by junior
Brittany Carpenter. Meredith started to push back near the end of the set as they tied the set at 18. Despite kills from junior
Brienna Laskowski and
Brittany Carpenter, the first set would end with Meredith besting the Pacers 25-21. Â
The Meredith Angels would come out strong in set number two with a 9-4 lead over WPU. The Pacers rallied and brought the score to 16-13 due to an attack error. However, the Pacers were unable to catch up to the deficit, and Meredith would end up finishing the set 25-18 over WPU.
In the third and final set, Peace trailed 8-5 early.
Brianna Davis had a great kill after a timeout, but the Angels were relentless and pushed their lead to 15-7. Two attack errors and a kill by
Brienna Laskowski would get the Pacers within six as they trailed 23-17, but they were unable to complete their rally and fell 25-17, allowing Meredith to clinch the game 3-0.

What's Next
The Pacers will head to Greensboro to play the Greensboro College Tri-Match against Greensboro College and Methodist University on October 12th. The games are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
