Pacers Sweep Ferrum on Senior Night

Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's volleyball team rocked the Herm on their senior night as they swept the Panthers of Ferrum College 3-0. The Pacers now improve to an overall record of 21-7 and a conference record of 10-4.

In set one of the Pacers senior night on Halloween, the ladies came out sharp against conference opponent Ferrum College.  The Pacers went up 9-3 on a kill by Paige Emore and forced a Panther time-out. The team went on a 7 point run to lead 17-5. With consistent effort from start to finish, the Pacers dominated the first set to win 25-10 on a kill by Jasmine Smith.

In set two Ferrum Panthers gathered themselves and showed some fight to keep the score tight throughout the early stages of the set.  WPU cranked up the heat as Brienna Laskowski had a pair of kills along with Mya Parks getting a pair of kills of her own to lead 23-16.  The Pacers would continue to control the end of the set to win 25-16 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The start of the third set began in favor of the Pacers as they continued to look sharp and took a 6-3 lead. A few service aces by Logan Moore would give WPU a 13-5 advantage. Bergin Gillespie would notch an impressive 4 aces in a row to give the Pacers a dominant 22-11 lead. The Panthers were unable to recover, and WPU would clinch the set 25-13 and the game 3-0.

What's Next
The Pacers will conclude the regular season on the road as they head to the Methodist University Tri-Match on November 2nd. The games are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
