Pacers Top Angels In Crosstown Rivalry

THE BASICS:

  • Final score: William Peace 82, Meredith 78

  • Location: Raleigh, NC -- Hermann Athletic Center

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first quarter would be back and forth action as both teams traded baskets. Khadijah Daniels would score 8 of the Pacers first 10 points of the game.
  • The Angels picked up their first lead of the game thanks to a layup from Kimberly Schuh to give the Angels a 21-19 lead early in the second quarter. 
  • The Pacers would finish the second quarter on a 6-0 run led by Khadijah Daniels who scored all six points, The Pacers would lead 42-40 at halftime.
  • The Pacers would  extend their lead to start the third quarter after a Mariah Ballen Layup. Kimberly Schuh eventually tied up the score about four minutes into the third quarter at (50-50).
  • The Pacers would stay ahead for most of the third with their largest lead being 7 points.
  • The Pacers would not trail for the remainder of the game. Timely free throws from Mikayla Ray down the stretch and key defensive stops would help secure a 82-78 victory for the Pacers.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS

  • Mikayla Ray finished with a double-double with 24 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

  • Khadijah Daniels scored a team-high 33 points to go with 6 assists and 4 rebounds.

  • Deja Umstead finished with 9 points.

 

FOR THE FOES

  • Kimberly Schuh finished with a double-double with a game-high 48 points and 10 rebounds.

  • Kristie King had 7 rebounds and 10 points.

 

STATS OF THE GAME

  • The Pacers led for 61.4% of the game.

  • The Angels shot 50% from behind the arch to the Pacers' 30%.

  • The Pacers shot 52.6% from the field (30-57) to the Angels' 39.7% (25-63).
