Pacers Undefeated in Conference Play with Best Start in Program History

CARY, N.C. -- The William Peace University men's soccer team defeated the Falcons of Pfieffer University on Sunday evening with a final score of 2-0. This marks the Pacers' third conference win of the season.

The Pacers jumped out to an offensive head start in the first half, out-shooting the Falcons, 10-3. Controlling possession for majority of the first half, the Pacers tallied four shots on goal. After several close looks from the Pacers, both teams headed into halftime, 0-0. Freshman forward, Jorge Aguilar would tally four shots in the first 45 minutes of play.

Ivan Ponce would prove to be a spark in the second half with two back-to-back goals in the 50th minute, just 30 seconds apart from one another. The Pacers would take the early 2-0 lead to charge through the second half. The second half would prove to be a physical battle between both teams as four yellow cards were administered throughout the latter half of the period. The Pacers were resilient throughout the remaining minutes, keeping their composure as the game winded down. The Pacers sealed the victory, 2-0.
