Pacers Fall to Virginia State

Cary NC-- The William Peace University men's baseball team fell to the Virginia State Trojans 14-0 on Tuesday afternoon in an non conference matchup.

Pacers Can't Overcome Early Struggles:
Virginia State would come out in the top of the first and score 12 runs in the first inning. The Trojans would score one more run in the top the second and one in the top of the fourth inning but would then would be held by the Pacer pitching staff. The Pacers would rotate 5 freshmen pitchers, one sophomore in DC. Russ and senior Jayce Stephenson,starting in the third inning with Jamey May, then followed by DC. Russ, Parker Lewter, Jayce Stephenson, Trevor Rohrs, Pierce Cox and Isaiah Oretega. The seven pitchers would hold the Trojans to one hit and 1 run over seven  innings of work. Nathan Holt, Alec Allred, Dakota Slate, and Aaron George would be the four Pacers who had a hit in tonight's game. An early start for the Trojans was too much fo the PAcers to overcome as they fell 0-14.

  • Justin Nase and Aaron Harris both had three hits and two runs scored.

  • Cecil Henderson, Jahleel Sewer, Keyon Smith, and Adarius Moody all had two hits.

  • Jarren Norman gets the win on the mound for the Trojans (3-2). He went seven innings only allowing three hits.

 

What's Next?

The William Peace University baseball team will be back in action on April 6, 2018 as they take on USA South conference Greensboro College in a crucial conference matchup with a postseason berth on the line. This will be a double header starting at 2pm in Greensboro,NC. Heading into the matchup the Pacers have an overall record of (15-15) and Greensboro College has a record of (12-15).
