Raleigh, NC-- William Peace University Softball team dropped both games in a USA South doubleheader to Meredith College by a score of 1-9 and 2-5.
Game One:
The Pacers would give up an early run as the Angels would score the first run of the contest off a Sarah Watson RBI single in the top of the first inning the Angels would hold on to this lead until the bottom of the fourth. Kristina Mojica come up to bat with one out and hit her third home run of the season over the center field fence to tie things up at one. The Pacers would proceed to load the bases with two outs but would be unable to convert and leave three on base.Meredith would go ahead in the top of the fifth when they tacked on four runs in the fifth after two costly errors by the Pacers. After four more runs in the seventh Meredith closed the game with a 1-9 victory.
Game Two:
Meredith would again open up the game with a early run in the top of the first inning. The Angels would add a run in the second and third innings to give them a 0-3 lead heading into the bottom of the third. The Pacer bats would come to life in the bottom of the third began to generate their offense in the third inning, after a single from Nadia Blevins, a Kristina Mojica single would score the speedy Nadia Blevins from first to bring the Pacers within two.
The score would remain 1-3 in favor of Meredith until the bottom of the sixth. Kacy Haithcock would step up to bat and send her second home run of the year over the right field fence to make it a one run game. However the Angels would add three runs in the top of seventh inning and hold the Pacers in the bottom of the inning to preserve 2-5 win.

Erica Occena led Meredith in game two going 3 for 5 in both games and finished the day with 3 total RBIs.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Pacers will jump out of conference play and matchup against Christopher Newport University on Sunday, March 25th at 1 pm in Raleigh, NC. This will be senior day for the Pacers as they celebrate the seniors and early graduates: Amanda Ludlum, Heather McLean, Katelyn McLamb, and Kacy Haithcock in their last home game of the season.
